Taitara Mahi - Pool Plant & Maintenance Assistant

Alongside our flagship aquatics facility at Splash Planet, Hastings District Council operates three indoor and outdoor pools for our community to play, exercise, train and learn to swim.

We’re looking for a practical, motivated Pool Plant & Maintenance Assistant who takes pride in keeping facilities safe, reliable, and running at their best. Known for your hands-on approach and strong teamwork, you’ll thrive in a busy, varied environment and play a key role in maintaining aquatic and recreation spaces enjoyed by thousands across our district.

This role offers the opportunity to work across a range of community facilities, supporting day-to-day operations and contributing to welcoming, well-maintained spaces for everyone.

To succeed in this role, you will:

• Have mechanical know-how, as well as hands on maintenance experience
• Be able to work within systems, safety procedures and technical guidelines
• Have strong teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills
• Be willing to learn, support others, and contribute positively to our facilities
