Do you thrive on strategic asset management and want to see your work make a visible difference in the community?

Hastings District Council is seeking an experienced Public Spaces Asset Manager to lead the strategic planning, lifecycle management and optimisation of our parks, reserves and open space assets. This is a senior, influential role where your expertise will directly support community wellbeing, environmental stewardship and long-term value for the district. As Public Spaces Asset Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic planning and management of Council’s parks and reserves assets, ensuring they are maintained, renewed and developed to meet service levels now and into the future.

You will be a strategic thinker who can see the big picture while understanding technical detail. You are comfortable working in complex environments and translating data into practical recommendations

To be successful in this role you will:

• Bring proven experience in asset management or infrastructure planning, ideally within parks, reserves or local government environments.
• Have a strong understanding of lifecycle planning, renewals programming and investment prioritisation.
• Be confident working collaboratively with community groups, contractors and internal teams to achieve shared outcomes.
• Use data, AMP frameworks and asset systems to support evidence-based decision-making.
• Be a strategic thinker who can balance service levels, sustainability, risk and long-term value for the community.
