Taitara Mahi - Toitioi Business Development Manager
Permanent - Full-Time 

We are looking for a Business Development Manager who will provide expert support, known for their passion for quality and ability to deliver.  You will be an integral part of the Toitoi – Hawke’s Bay Arts and Events Centre team.

 

In this role you will manage Corporate Services to ensure the development and growth of the conferencing & function business for the precinct and maximise revenue streams. You will be responsible for the management of all events at the precinct, have proven experience in leading a highly skilled and functioning team that delivers high levels of customer service and front of house management.  This role will be responsible for building relationships with businesses, corporates and events organisations nationally and locally to ensure Toitoi – Hawke’s Bay Arts and Events Centre is seen as the premier facility for holding functions and conference events in Hawke’s Bay.  This is a dynamic leadership role involved in strategic planning, budgets and decision making.

This position requires an experienced manager with proven conferencing and events industry experience, as well as experience in finance, staff management and planning and whose focus is on the details while also being able to see the big picture.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

  • A recognised industry qualification or equivalent level of learning through a minimum of 5 years’ experience of management in the venue/conferencing/events industry
  • Demonstrated relationships with the events industry and promoters
  • Experience in financial management
  • Experience in managing staff
  • Understanding of tikanga Māori and/or Te Reo Māori
  • Experience in promotional activities
  • Experience in CRM systems (Ungerboeck)
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with a high degree of flexibility in an environment which can have periods of demanding workloads and time constraints
  • Proven ability to plan, organise, and set objectives and priorities
  • Strong administration skills
