Taitara Mahi - Public Spaces Asset Planner

We’re looking for a Public Spaces Asset Planner to join our Community Facilities & Services Group and play a key role in planning for the future of Hastings’ parks, reserves and open spaces. You’ll assist with the development and review of asset management plans for public spaces assets, support long-term capital works programming, and help ensure asset information, condition data and levels of service are robust and fit for purpose. You’ll work closely with operational teams, consultants and Council stakeholders to turn asset insights into practical planning and investment decisions.

To be successful in this role, you will:
- Bring experience in asset planning, parks, or a related public sector environment
- Have an understanding of asset management planning, renewals forecasting and long-term capital works programming.
- Be confident working with asset data, condition information, GIS and asset systems such as RAMM to support evidence-based decisions.
- Understand levels of service, lifecycle planning and the funding needs required to maintain and improve public spaces assets.
- Be a proactive and organised planner who can balance strategic thinking with practical implementation and community outcomes.
