Toitoi’s vision is to be the most vibrant and significant arts, culture and events facility in New Zealand. To support us in managing delivery of a wide variety of events, we are looking for an Event Manager with strong attention to detail and leadership ability. 

As Event Manager, you’ll lead our Events Team to deliver consistently high-quality experiences, setting the standard for service and customer care. You’ll oversee all event staff, from Front of House to Bar, ensuring every event runs smoothly and leaves a lasting impression.

Beyond operations, you’ll build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, driving repeat business and maximising occupancy across our venues.

This role suits a confident leader who communicates clearly, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and brings a sharp eye for detail. You’ll balance multiple priorities with ease, lead with empathy, and take pride in creating seamless, customer-focused event experiences.

Ōu wheako – about you
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in event management or a relevant qualification
  • Strong leadership experience managing large teams
  • Proven background in venue operations, including booking systems and CRM (e.g. Momentus)
  • Solid experience in senior food and beverage management
  • Highly developed communication skills and a customer-first approach
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and stay flexible in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
