Taitara Mahi - Capital Programme Manager – Public Spaces & Buildings

We’re looking for an experienced project leader to manage a diverse programme of capital and renewal projects across Council buildings and high-profile public spaces. In this role, you’ll lead projects from planning through to delivery, coordinate contractors and consultants, manage contracts and budgets, and keep key stakeholders informed along the way. This is a great opportunity to help shape places that matter to our community while working across a wide range of building and public space initiatives.

To be successful in this role you'll bring:

• 8+ years' experience managing capital or infrastructure projects.
• Strong programme planning, contract management and financial oversight skills.
• Experience working with consultants, contractors, community stakeholders and internal teams.
• The ability to provide clear, timely advice throughout the project lifecycle.
• A relevant qualification, such as a Level 6 Diploma in Construction (Construction Management or Quantity Surveying), an advanced qualification in a relevant construction trade, or equivalent experience.
• Recognised project management capability.
• Experience in residential and small commercial construction.
• Sound knowledge of building and construction practices.
• A collaborative, accountable approach with the ability to turn strategy into practical delivery.
