Taitara Mahi - 3 Waters Asset Planner

We’re looking for a skilled and forward-thinking 3 Waters Asset Planner to join our Infrastructure Group at Hastings District Council.

This is a key planning role focused on ensuring we invest in the right assets, at the right time. You will strengthen asset knowledge, support long-term planning, and help guide strategic investment decisions across our drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater networks.

You’ll work closely with asset managers, data teams, finance, and delivery teams to develop robust, evidence-based plans that respond to growth, climate change, and regulatory requirements.

We’re looking for someone who brings:

• Experience in infrastructure asset management and planning, ideally within 3 Waters
• Strong understanding of asset management principles, renewals forecasting, and long-term planning
• Knowledge of local government processes and regulatory frameworks
• Ability to interpret data and develop evidence-based investment recommendations
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage across technical and non-technical audiences
• A collaborative and proactive approach, with a focus on continuous improvement
