Taitara Mahi - Skate Park Guardian
Permanent Part-time

William Nelson Park is an award-winning skatepark in central Hastings. The skatepark has been designed to provide a challenge for skateboarders, in-line bladers and BMXers, while also being accessible for less confident users.

We are currently looking for a Skate Park Guardian, to help us ensure that the skatepark is a safe and user friendly place that will attract families and youth to enjoy the surroundings and environment.  You will also help in the prevention and determent of anti-social behaviour and crime.

This is a permanent part-time position with a minimum of 18 hours per week based on a Monday to Sunday roster.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Be available to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, evenings and public holidays
• Be fit, confident and responsible
• Ideally have experience in working with youth – but this is not essential
• Have a mature, even-tempered and cooperative nature, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly.
