Taitara Mahi – Cemetery Labourer
Permanent Full-time
Hastings District Council operates four cemeteries, in Hastings, Havelock North, Puketapu and Mangaroa. We are currently looking for a Cemetery Labourer to work at our Cemeteries and Crematorium.
In this role, your duties will include preparing and maintaining graves in accordance with various burial acts, orders and local regulations, planting and maintaining gardens and assisting with public enquiries at the cemetery office.
This is a role that suits someone with a pleasant outgoing personality, with an affinity for people, who takes pride in their appearance, is physically fit and a team player. This is a permanent full-time role which will require you to be available to work outside of normal working hours on the weekends and in all weather conditions.

To be successful in this role you will have:
- Cemetery operations experience - desirable OR
- Maintenance experience in grounds/buildings
- Eagerness to learn appropriate sections of the Burial Act
- Experience delivering great customer service
- Experience operating a mechanical digger - desirable
- Current full drivers licence
- A can do attitude
