Taitara Mahi - Youth Connector - Training
Fixed term, full-time
Mahi for Youth is a wrap-around support service for Hastings youth aged between 16 - 24 years who are looking for some support to gain education or employment. We have a great team of Connectors who work together to create opportunities for rangatahi.
Our Youth Connectors build relationships with young people, support rangatahi to set and achieve goals, network with employers and other providers, and provide holistic support to young people and their whānau. This role is focussed on training opportunities; your main role will be coordinating training for rangatahi including supporting clients to gain NZQA unit standards. Your work will be holistic and underpinned by Te Whare Tapa Whā.
This is a fixed term opportunity through to February 2026.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a relevant tertiary qualification in youth work / education.
- Have initiative and be able to work in a team environment.
- Have an understanding and respect for the health and wellbeing of yourself and others.
- Ideally have public sector experience - though this is not essential.
- An innovative and proactive approach to solving problems.
