We are seeking 2 motivated and enthusiastic people to join our Environmental Consents team - in the roles of Senior Environmental Planner - Consents and Environmental Planner - Consents. In these positions, you will assess a range of resource consents of varying complexity. In the Senior position, we are also looking at potential for leadership to support the Team Leader Environmental Consent in the day-to-day management of the resource consent area and you will work in conjunction with the Environmental Consents Manager to develop and mentor staff and provide technical leadership in the resource management space across the organisation.   

Ōu wheako –about you,
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification, in Planning or a similarly relevant discipline, is essential.
  • Experience in report preparation and presentation before Council is required, and experience in appearing before the Environment Court would be an advantage.
  • Experience in a resource management-related discipline preferred, or experience in Resource Management policy.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Resource Management Act and District Plans
  • For the Senior role, some knowledge or experience in managing for sustainable outcomes is highly desirable.
