The Hastings District Council Finance team is committed to delivering exceptional financial services across all parts of Council. Hastings District Council is currently seeking applications for the permanent full-time role of Rates Officer to provide efficient and accurate administrative support to help our busy Finance team deliver effective rating services. This role has an important function within this team to supply accurate and efficient processing of rating information and the successful candidate will be an analytical problem-solver with an excellent eye for detail.
You will be joining a supportive and diverse team where you will have the opportunity to take ownership of your position and work closely with the wider finance operations team. You will be a strong communicator and have the ability to hit the ground running.

The successful candidate will have:
- Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service
- Microsoft Excel skills to an intermediate level and data input experience
- Experience with data analysis, manipulating and analysing large data sets
- Initiative and be able to work in a team environment.
- A cool and collected manner when working under pressure
- Good investigative skills plus an innovative and proactive approach to solving problems
- Experience of Local Government rating would be an advantage (but not necessary)
