Are you passionate about environmental education and inspiring young minds? Join our ambitious waste minimisation teams and make a real difference in Hawke's Bay communities. You'll develop and deliver engaging waste education programmes from our purpose-built education centre at Ōmarunui Landfill, Te Whare Mukupara and inside classrooms. Inspire students from primary through to secondary school to reduce waste, improve recycling, and embrace circular economy principles.
The successful candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualification in education and experience in waste minimisation, behaviour change or environmental management or science, or related field
- Proven experience developing and delivering innovative education programmes
- Experience working within the New Zealand education system and curriculum framework and requirements
- Strong experience engaging and inspiring young people (ages 5-18)
- Knowledge of waste management, recycling, composting, sustainability and circular economy principles (preferable but not essential)
- Excellent communication skills with ability to adapt messaging for different audiences
