We’re looking for an experienced project manager, confident communicator with a proven track record in managing multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects. This is your opportunity to drive real change—lead internal and external teams future proofing infrastructure, building resilience and implementing complex solutions.
This role will lead the delivery of a variety of large scale and complex projects within the Infrastructure Group, these are typically our most complex projects requiring a capable leader experienced in infrastructure delivery. An exciting role that will own outcomes, manage risk, reporting, coordinate multiple interfaces and manage complex stakeholders.
You will lead a collaborative design and delivery approach, ensuring our projects meet both functional and community needs.
The 3 Waters team has a large capital programme of works and a number of strategic initiatives underway which would benefit from the addition of an experienced and capable leader who can drive delivery across the works programme. The role could include responsibility for delivery of some of Council’s most significant projects such as the East Clive Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) upgrade and renewals programme. This project also includes the development of a long term (100+ years) strategy for the future of waste water management within Hastings.
As a Principal Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering some of Council’s most challenging projects on time and within budget. This is a varied and hands-on role suited to someone who thrives on ownership, leadership, and problem-solving.

- Be a proven leader of multi-disciplinary teams which combine complex engineering solutions and sensitive operating environments
- Bring proven experience in managing complex and large scale projects within the 3 waters discipline
- Understand budgeting, compliance, and project delivery in a corporate setting
- Be a proactive leader who motivates others and builds strong internal and external working relationships
- Hold Bachelor level qualifications in Engineering or similar disciplines
