Ōu wheako – about you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in procurement, supply chain, engineering, or business (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier relationship management—ideally within infrastructure delivery.
- Deep knowledge of public sector procurement rules, probity requirements, and contract law, plus hands-on experience with NZS3910, NZS3916, and NZS3917 forms of contract.
You’re a commercially savvy professional who thrives on complexity. You understand procurement planning, risk assessment, and negotiation strategies that balance value, performance, and risk. You’re confident developing procurement strategies for major capital projects and turning market insights into smart decisions.
Strong communication and influencing skills are essential—you’ll build trust with suppliers, consultants, and internal teams while driving best practice. Above all, you’re collaborative, strategic, and committed to delivering infrastructure outcomes that are sustainable, cost-effective, and community-focused.
This role is part of the Infrastructure Group. The Group includes 3 Waters, Transportation, a Delivery Office, Business Support and a professional services panel of consultants.
