Taitara Mahi – Aquatics Maintenance Technician
Permanent, full-time

We are looking for an Aquatics Maintenance Technician who has the required skills, experience, knowledge and general know how to assist with the Aquatics Operations at Splash Planet, including extend maintenance assistance to other Hastings District Council Aquatic facilities which include pools, slides, plant and equipment.

This role will work alongside the current Maintenance Engineer undertaking tasks and in some cases taking the lead with:

• Aquatics Engineering & Mechanical Operations across Council facilities
• Aquatic related projects
• Carrying out Water Testing
• The development of Policy and Procedures for all Aquatic areas
• Other Operational responsibilities

Ōu wheako –about you,

To be successful in this role you will have:

• 3+ years of relevant aquatics facility maintenance experience
• Methods and techniques used in the operation, repair, and maintenance of swimming pools, equipment, and facilities.
• A working knowledge of and preferably recognised qualification certificates in:
  • Pool Water Treatment and Filtration Systems.
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Plumbing and pipe work

Additionally you will:

• Understand Health and Safety Legislation and requirements
• Have a strong desire to continually learn
• Follow procedures and always thinks about risks.
