Taitara Mahi - Recycling, Kiosk and Transfer Station Operator
Permanent, full-time
Annually, Hastings District Council's Henderson Road Transfer Station sends over 10,000 tonnes of waste to the Omarunui Landfill, alongside processing approximately 10,000 tonnes of recycling. The role of the Recycling, Kiosk and Transfer Station Operator is to ensure that the Transfer Station can operate effectively, efficiently and to a high level of customer satisfaction.
Your duties will include:
- Operating a Loader in a safe and responsible manner
- Working in the kiosk, communicating with both commercial customers and members of the public
- Promoting good recycling practices to the wider Hastings community
- Assisting customers at the transfer station tip face and recycling depot
Ōu wheako –about you,
- Have excellent communication and customer service skills
- Wheels, Tracks and Rollers licence would be preferred - but this is not essential
- Have cash-handling skills, able to cash up with accuracy and efficiency
- Have a good level of computer literacy, including using Microsoft Office applications
- Be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritise your workload
